Everlance supports three different methods of mileage tracking. Watch the brief tutorial or keep scrolling!
1. Auto-Detection
The Premium Auto-Detection feature efficiently tracks trips in the background of a phone, freeing up time and easily satisfying IRS requirements for mileage logs. Once trips are recorded, they just need to be Classified. Swipe the Trips to the right to mark them as Work, or to the left for Personal and/or Other.
Auto-Detection can be turned on and off in the Tracker Settings of the app. Users should check their Tracker Checklist (also found in the Tracker Settings) to ensure the Everlance app has the proper mobile device permissions for Trip Tracking and continue to open the app at least once a week to maintain tracking accuracy. Timestamps are included on these Auto-Detected Trips. You can also choose Auto-Track Style to decide if you want your trips recorded individually or all in one route (see the tutorial for further detail).
2. Work Sessions
The Work Sessions feature provides a hands-on GPS tracking approach that relies on the user to begin and end their driving. This feature does require Auto-Detection to be on, so make sure this is turned on in the Tracker Settings tab. Like Auto-Detected Trips, mileage tracked with this method will include timestamps. To Track with this method, click on the + button in the app and choose Start Work Session. End the Trip when it's over, Classify, and you're done!
3. Manual Entry
Trips can also be manually entered in the + section of the app, which is great for past mileage and the occasional trip. These trips show as manually entered and do not include timestamps, though users can add the time as a Trip Note. The Web Dashboard can be accessed on a computer or laptop to manually add trips as well.
