What is an MVR?
An MVR, or Motor Vehicle Records search, is a report that retrieves a driver’s history from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) of a specific state.
What does an MVR provide?
While this is not an exhaustive list, MVRs most commonly include the following:
- Personal information pertaining to the driver (name, address, date of birth, etc.)
- License number and status (whether it’s valid, invalid, suspended or revoked)
- Violations and convictions (speeding tickets, moving traffic violations, crashes, etc.)
- Any existing suspensions and revocations

What happens if there is a violation on my MVR?

Why is my employer monitoring my MVR?
Your employer monitors your MVR to promote safety, manage risk, and comply with legal or industry requirements related to driving records.
What happens if I don’t create a Samba Safety account?
Your employer may require this as a part of your employment and will follow up to request that you create an account.
Is my data secure? Who else can see my data?
Your data is secure and can only be accessed by you and your employer. You can learn more by going to Samba’s privacy policy here.
